Perched confidently atop a weathered wooden post, this American kestrel, photographed in Tortola, British Virgin Islands, offers a striking glimpse of one of the  most captivating birds of prey. Did you know Kestrels are known to cache (hide) extra food in tree cavities, fence posts, or grass clumps to save for later. Unlike many other falcons, they do this year-round, not just during nesting season.
